Whether dry or wet methods - each method offers specific advantages for different component sizes and geometries. All residual dirt analyses are carried out in accordance with VDA 19 and ISO 16232:2018 in our accredited test laboratory.

The residual dirt analysis ensures technical cleanliness and places high demands on particle analysis. Gravimetry determines the mass increase of particles on a filter, provides precise results on particle mass, but without size distribution. JOMESA's light microscopy, on the other hand, enables detailed particle analysis: number, size and categories, such as metallic shine or fibrous, are recorded precisely.

Thorough documentation is crucial for a complete residual dirt analysis and ensuring technical cleanliness. Gravimetry measures the degree of contamination of a component in milligrams, while light microscopy provides the number and categories of particles according to VDA 19 and ISO 16232:2018. This analysis categorizes particles as metallically shiny, non-shiny or fibrous and is supplemented by images.
The Component Cleanliness Code (CCC) can also be specified based on the component, area or volume, which enables a precise cleanliness assessment and well-founded quality assurance.
