Gravimetry documents the degree of contamination of a component in milligrams and indicates the mass of the particle load without recording the particle size distribution. In addition, the detailed classifications from light microscopy are available, which enables a comprehensive cleanliness assessment and well-founded decisions for quality assurance.
In the residual dirt analysis, light microscopy provides precise documentation in which the number of particles is output according to the size classes according to VDA 19 and ISO 16232:2018. The system categorizes the particles into metallic, non-shiny and fibrous. These classifications can be adapted according to customer requirements. For additional transparency, images of the largest particles in each category are provided, which enables exact traceability.
